From the Vicar

This moved me, and I've received permission from the author to post it here on our website.

Thank God

Next time you’re stuck in traffic, thank God you have somewhere to be

Next time you get frustrated because your child asks you a silly question, thank God that you asked the same and someone answered you so that you know the answer

Next time your parents ask you to fix something, thank God (and them) that you know enough to help

Next time you wish you were skinny, thank God you aren’t starving

Next time a friend needs a favor, thank God that they believe you can deliver

Next time your dog pees in the floor or eats your furniture look into their eyes and thank God that someone cares that much about what you think

Next time you are on crutches, thank god that you have your legs

Next time you lose your wallet, thank God you have something to put in it

Next time a friend irritates you, thank God you have someone to irritate

Next time your significant other makes you mad, thank God you have someone to make mad

Next time you have to look at something ugly, thank God that you can see

Next time you bitch about the weather, thank God you have shelter

Next time you don’t have patience, thank God that someone had patience for you - before you didn’t have patience

Next time someone is inexplicably rude to you, thank God that your day isn’t as bad as theirs

Next time your team loses, thank God that such a frivolous activity can be so special

Next time someone’s political views irritate you, thank God that we’re all Americans basically so that we can disagree and thank God for those that defend that right

Next time someone breaks your heart, thank God for those that didn’t and never would

Next time you don’t get what you want, thank God you have what you need

Next time you think you’re worthless, thank God that someone would give anything to have a friend like you

Next time you think you are ugly, thank God that you are your own worst critic

Next time you would hurt someone you love because you are “right”, thank God you remember all the times you have been “wrong”

Next time you don’t understand something, thank God you are willing and free to question something

Next time you are wrong, thank God that you learned that you were wrong before you made a complete ass out of yourself!

Next time someone lets you down, thank God that they did enough before that you have expectations

Next time your boss doesn’t care, thank God that it is likely derived from faith in your ability to overcome

Next time you think someone is worthless, thank God that someone, somewhere, thinks otherwise and that you have thought the same of yourself

Next time you think it’s all bad, thank God that it all comes good in the end

Thank God that I have someone to send this to.  Life is too short.  Live, Love and remember to live again, before it’s time to reflect.  We can only give what is given to us, but we can only give what we have if we realize we have it.

Blessings,

Karl Lusk, Jr.
